My new ferret isn't friendly. How can I help her adjust and bond?

I just got my ferret last week. She was very docile and seemed to get beat up on at the store, that is why we chose her. However now that shes home we are very disheartened. she doesn't seem to like us at all. its hard to get her to play, and she really doesn't like my boyfriend. everything I have read says they are social, friendly pets but she isn't friendly at all... what can I do? It could take Lyla a few weeks to get use to her new surroundings. I would make sure she is in a low stress location in the house. Also, allow her to have some space she can get away and relax. I recommend finding a special treat only you or your boyfriend gives her. that way she starts to look forward to you being around.
