Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Male | neutered | 10 months and 2 days old
Hi, I just noticed something unusual on my cat's lip that worries me. He doesn't behave differently, he's eating, drinking properly, haven't noticed anything else apart from this "thing" on his top lip. Also it is not visible normaly. Only when I was petting him, He was lying on his back. It looks like a ring with hole inside, and the ring/skin is hard. Is it something I should worry about and visit immediately Vet?? Thank you Gabriela

Hi Gabriela! I'm glad to hear that Marvin seems to be normal aside from the lesion on his lip. From the pictures, this lesion looks most suspicious for an indolent ("rodent") ulcer, which is related to a complex of eosinophilic diseases. These conditions can be related to underlying allergies or a genetic predisposition to these lesions. I do recommend taking Marvin to his vet sometime this week because he may need a course of steroids to help this lesion to improve, but this is not an emergency condition. I hope this helps and that all goes well!
