Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 10 years and 2 months old | 8 lbs
Hello, I live in a remote island in Canada and my beautiful, healthy 11 yr old cat coughs a bit after she runs and it always resolves itself. It seemed more frequent in the colder weather than it is now in summer. I don't have vet access and could you pls give me your sense of what this might be. She has a good appetite, is bright and sociable and has regular rhythms (incl hunting!). I look forward to your reply and thank you very much.

It is possible she has asthma, heartworm disease or allergies. I am pretty sure heartworm disease is not common in Canada. You can try an anti histamine to help with the coughing. However if it progresses I would recommend trying to find a vet for chest x-rays because cats love to hide heart disease
