What to do if my dog's tail has a popped blood blister and a hole?

My dog has a blood blister on her tail and when popped it was a hole in her tail is this threatening to her?

Hi there. I think Ginger is going to be just fine. I would recommend you hot pack that wound a couple times a day for the next few days. Take a really warm (NOT HOT) washcloth and hold it on there for 5 minutes 2-3 times a day. If there is any infection that should help to draw it out. After hot packing, you can apply some Neosporin or other antibiotic ointment. If it doesn't look better after 4 or 5 days OR it gets really swollen OR if it has a lot of pus coming from it then you should take her to your vet for an exam. I hope this helps. Best wishes!

    Poor Ginger. I would gently clean the wound with warm water and antiseptic soap. To keep her from licking at it, you can put an Ecollar on her. You can get one at a pet store or make one at home. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and she will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it.
