The amount of chocolate in an Oreo should not be a toxic amount. Me may have some vomiting or diarrhea from GI upset. Try to keep him away from people food in the future but I suspect he'll be fine this time. If you notice any abnormal shaking or tremors he should go to the vet to be safe.

My cat is 9months. She got a hold of crumbs of chocolate Oreos and possibly a chocolate brown. It's wasn't a lot. But I am considered about it. I took it from her as soon as I saw get it.
Good on you for taking that away from Ava as soon as possible! There isn't a lot of chocolate in the Oreos, but I am concerned about her eating the chocolate brownie. That's because brownies are often made with cocoa powder, which is quite toxic to cats. It would be best that Ava is seen by vet now to be treated to prevent any potential chocolate toxicity.

A tiny nibble of chocolate cake would not be enough for a kitten that size to get chocolate toxicity. However, it's a good idea to keep an eye out for signs of toxicity just in-case she ate more than I am considering. Vomiting is usually the first sign that there is a problem. Chocolate toxicity can also cause nervousness, tremors and seizures as the toxin progresses. If you notice this, then it's best to take Yang to the vet immediately for treatment. My kitten ate chocolate icecream. A lid from an icecream container was left out and I found her eating icecream off of it. I took it from her before it was licked clean. She did get quite a bit of it. What should I do?
That was naughty of Nyx to eat the ice cream! I would first check the ingredients of the ice cream. If it doesn't contain a large amount of real chocolate or dark chocolate (as opposed to milk chocolate), there may not be enough chocolate in the ice cream to cause problems. If it does contain large amounts of chocolate or dark chocolate, rush her into a vet immediately. I would monitor her for signs of chocolate toxicity to be safe which include rapid and/or labored breathing, hyperactivity, rapid heart rate, tremors, seizures, vomiting, diarrhea, and general symptoms of illness like decreased appetite and/or lethargy. If you see any of those signs, take her into a vet right away. Good luck, I hope this helps!

It's difficult to know how much the actual cocoa content is in this, but it doesn't sound like enough to be toxic. It depends on the concentration of the cocoa though. In order for you to determine the potential for toxicity, I recommend you estimate the amount of cocoa they could have drank and use the chocolate toxicity calculator at this link: http://veterinaryclinic.com/chocolate/calc.html Signs of chocolate toxicity can be vomiting, hyper-excitability, tremors and seizures. If you notice any of these signs, then it's best to them to a vet for treatment/monitoring. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done at home for this. It's best to make sure they have plenty of water and that you check them every four hours for any signs of toxicity. If are fine within 12 hours, then I would not worry about them having any signs of toxicity. I hope that helps and all is well with the kitties.

Hi there! A few crumbs of milk chocolate probably will not harm your cat. If she got a decent bit, she might have some diarrhea, but I highly doubt this will happen if it was only chocolate residue. Feel free to call your vet if you have concerns, but I think your kitty will be just fine! :)

A very small section shouldn't cause any problems, but keep an eye on her for the next 24 hours. If you see any concerning signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate, or restlessness, have her seen by a vet immediately.

Your kitty should be just fine! You are a great pet parent to be worried, but there is not that much chocolate in that type of cocoa. He could have loose stool from the sugar and milk, but that's it. If they have a lot of actual cocoa or chocolate, the symptoms come on pretty quickly... like minutes to an hour. Your kitty should be ok.

My dog is 7 pounds he ate 3 Oreos & a whole donut. What should I do?
Oh my, that was naughty of him to eat all that! Luckily the Oreos won't contain a lot of chocolate, and if the donut wasn't chocolate either, there wouldn't be a concern about chocolate toxicity. The concern is the sugar content, which can and does cause GI upset. I can give you a home remedy to try if you see any GI upset in the form of vomiting. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Hi! My cat consumed chocolate about an 45 minutes ago. He seems okay but I am not sure the extremities of the situation or what to do. I dont know how much he ate but it was melted choclate with milk on rice krispie treats.
Rarely will cats eat enough chocolate to become toxic. Milk chocolate with the Rice Krispies should be ok. It’s the dark baking chocolate that is the most toxic and cats are quite fussy, unlike dogs, and they won’t eat as much. Keep an eye on him. Signs of toxicity starts with agitation. If he should start acting abnormally excited then you may want to have him checked at your emergency clinic. Do not try to have him vomit as that may cause more medical issues than the chocolate. I think Mirz will likely be fine. The most toxic chocolate is the unsweetened baker's chocolate. Milk chocolate and white chocolate are the least toxic. It doesn't sound like she got enough to make her sick based on what you said above. I recommend you just monitor her closely for any abnormal behavior or symptoms.
