Why is my dog's old ACL surgery site oozing more after exercise?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 6 years and 9 months old | 65 lbs

My dog had rupped his ACL years ago it ripped his knee cap off. Since then theres always been a small oozing hole. Health colored oozing fluid. Anyways it seems to habe got really bad this past year and it oozes more with exercise. He never seems in pain but since the op hes always sat on it and never sits straight properly for too long. Im out of options with what it is

Depending on the type of procedure he has done it might be a reaction to one of the implants. I would consult with your vet about your options to have it flushed and debrided and cultured or having the implants removed if able
