I have a three week old puppy that was bitten on the left side of her face by her mom when she wandered over to the food dish. We have cleaned the wounds, bleeding has stopped, but the puppy is (understandably) yelping every two minutes or so. Mom has been removed from the room and the puppy has been separated from the litter temporarily as any time one of the others brushes against the wound, she yelps. Is there any way to make her more comfortable until we can get her to a vet in the morning?

Unfortunately there are no OTC medications you can give this puppy, especially not pain relievers. Many are toxic to puppies and can be fatal if given. Keeping her separated for now is a good idea, and you will have to feed her with a puppy formula while she is separated. A brand I recommend is called KMR, and you can get it at a grocery store. Bottle feed her tonight, keep her warm, and definitely take her into the vet in the morning.
