My kittens are depressed after sibling died. Is it grief or illness?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 18 days old

I can't tell if my cats are sick or depressed they have been together all their lives and they just lost their brother so I'm not sure if they have what he had (I don't know what was wrong with the one that passed away) but there is definitely something wrong. They were all happy and healthy a week ago but i don't know what happened. I've tried taking them outside and all they wanted to do was go back in (they're inside cats) at the time, I don't have money to take either to a vet right now.

These kittens are very young and the fact that a sibling passed away is very concerning. They need to see a vet to check for different viral and bacterial infections that they could be suffering from which may have been the cause of death with the one that passed. They are pretty young to be showing signs of depression.
