When should I not give my dog ice cubes, especially if they're hot?

Great question! I wouldn't give Chloe ice cubes when she is extremely hot and possibly suffering from heat stroke. You can give her ice cubes in her water as long as she isn't overheated, and you can give them to her to chew on when she's inside the cool house. I hope this helps :-)

    Eating a lot of ice cubes might give him an upset stomach, but shouldn't affect his body temperature enough to be dangerous. Adding ice cubes to his water dish is an excellent way to help him stay cool in the summer. You can keep him entertained and cool by getting a big bowl that can go in the freezer and fill it with water and a few rubber toys, baby carrots, a few treats, etc. Unmold it into a big bowl to help contain the mess and let him lick on it all day.
