Why is my cat suddenly hiding, drooling, and avoiding everyone?

My cat has never been the most social, but he has tolerated us and has had moments of kindness, sitting in our laps, letting us hold him for a minute, but since last night he has been hiding for quite some time and actively avoids everyone in the house. He hid under my bed for a full night, and then we found him in a room with no one else, and when we went to pet him he walked away from us and hid in the bookcase. I also noticed drool around his mouth, which smelled awful. Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Male | neutered | 19 lbs

Please have Bleu assessed by a vet as soon as possible it sounds like he is in pain and likely has an infection in the mouth either from a broken jaw or damaged tooth. HE requires pain medication and a full assessment, probably under sedation in order to investigate fully - do nor offer him food in the meantime as he may need to be fasting for the procedure
