Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 13 years old | 8 lbs
Cat is 13 years old. Had diarrhea - in the litter box and also beside the litter box. Has had a regular history of vomiting, which she also did around same time as diarrhea. Have seen several vets with no answers or resolution to the vomiting which she has done for several years. Mostly concerned about the diarrhea. She eats good and seems to behave normally.

Chronic diarrhea in an older cat with vomiting can be a sign of an inflammatory bowel disease or intestinal cancer. The only way to differentiate between the two disease is a surgery to take biopsies of the intestines and have them analyzed. Based on the diagnosis, the diet may be changed or vitamin supplements or steroids may be added to manage her symptoms. They will check for parasite and check her labs for any renal or endocrine disease

She is probably suffering either from IBD or intestinal lymphoma, both conditions are usually treated with steroids but the later is a terminal disease. to confirm one of the conditions it is necessary to have an intestinal biopsy done.
