This question is in regards to my dog, Jade. My husband and I went on vacation last week, and a family friend came to our house twice a day to feed our dogs. When we got back I noticed my dog's ear looked weird. These marks were not there before, and I am wondering if our pups got into a fight. Does this look serious? I do not have the funds to take her to the vet at the moment..

These marks are very superficial and don't look particularly red or infected. They could just be from the other dog nipping at the ear and causing a bit of hair loss. If they grown in size I would go into the vet for a skin test in case there is an infection or parasite causing the hair loss, but you could monitor for now.

These wounds look superficial to me but I can't say for sure without an exam. Also they look like they have crusts which could indicate a skin infection more so than a bite wound. Bite wounds are usually punctures wounds or cuts. You could try cleaning them with some mild soap and water. Be careful not to get water down in the ears. And then put Neosporin on the spots twice a day. If they do not clear up or if they start to spread/get worse then you may have to take her to the vet because it could be fungal (ringworm) as well. I hope the neosporin works!
