Poor King! If the paw is very swollen, it definitely sounds like something is wrong. I would recommend contacting the owner to let them know, and getting their permission to take King to the vet - he may need x-rays to help determine how severe his injury is, and the vet can also prescribe safe and effective pain medication to make him more comfortable. Until you are able to reach the owner, you can keep King as calm and quiet as possible to avoid any additional damage to his paw - this means short leash walks to potty only, no running or jumping.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If King is not bearing weight on one of his feet, this can be a sign of a broken bone or serious sprain or tendon tear. I recommend having him seen by a vet as soon as possible. They can perform a thorough exam, take x-rays, and stabilize the injured leg as needed as well as provide pain medication to keep King comfortable. I hope all is well!
