Is Pediasure okay for orphaned kittens before I get kitten formula?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 0.5 lbs

Is Pediasure appropriate for orphaned kittens? I don't think it has the required protein and taurine in it for long-term use but perhaps just until I can find kitten formula? Thanks.

Please try to get kitten formula. I do not recommend using anything else as it can lead to severe diarrhea that can be debilitating in tiny kittens. Most pet stores, farm supply stores or vet clinics should carry kitten milk replacer. Even some grocery stores may have it. There is a homemade formula at this link if you truly can't get milk replacer right away but every diet/formula change leads to risk of diarrhea. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=576
