Can I switch from K9 Advantix II to Seresto? Any side effects?

I live in Florida and the fleas are awful. I've been using K9 Advantix II and have to reapply every 2 weeks. How soon cab I try a Seresto collar? Also I've heard horror stories about the collar. How common are some of these side effects? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 3 years and 7 months old | 60 lbs

You can try a seresto collar after the 2 week application of an advantix. It is not for everyone as each bath starts the transcription process again so it decreases the 8 month time frame it is labeled to last. If you are worried above side effects, which can occur with any product, you may want to talk to your vet about monthly tablets or once every 3 month tablets that are for fleas and ticks now.
