Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 10 months and 5 days old
I have a tortie shell cat. She is estimated to be about 10-11 months old, is spayed, and is an indoor-only cat. She scratches under her chin A LOT (her chin is covered in scabs and sores :( ) and throws up quite often too. Just recently I have noticed that one of her cheeks is HUGE. It's swollen pretty bad, but it doesn't appear to be irritated. We have another kitten (male, neutered, also indoor, around 4 months old) and I'm worried he might get sick too. What could be wrong with my tortie?

Nala is a lovely girl! Her cheek could be swollen due to a dental problem such as a tooth root abscess, or a broken or rotten tooth, and the discomfort from that could cause her to scratch her chin a lot. She could be vomiting from unchewed pain; she won't be chewing her food properly due to dental pain. This isn't contagious, and Nala should see a vet in the morning for her symptoms. The vet can diagnose what is causing them and how best to treat them. If she does have a dental problem, she would likely benefit from a cleaning, scaling, and polishing.
