Sorry to be asking another question, but how likely is my cat to be in trouble -- if she got whole of 2-3 inches of cotton string from a fraying wash cloth? she picked it up from her favorite toy she always carrys around and I only noticed it when she brought me her toy, let it go to flick her tongue. and It seemed like I moved in super slow motion trying to get it off her tongue, missed my chance before she swallowed it. Do I need to take her to vet? Wait to see if signs appear of a blockage?

You can ask as many questions you like! I would take her into a vet to be safe, as these strings can often get caught in a cat's mouth around the tongue. The other problem with strings is that they can cause a linear foreign body. If you can get her into a vet now to induce vomiting, then you can prevent an obstruction from happening. The vet can also check her mouth to see if it's stuck in there.
