My boar 3 month guinea pigs are staying in my room my mom keeps telling me that i should take them out in the sun so they can get some sunlight. Is it necessary? What i usually do is set them on the grass with a towel so if they want to hide they can. They usually just eat the grass and most of the time run to hide in the towel. It seems that they get very stress when i have to get them out of the cage to go out and if it isnt necessary then i wouldnt want to disturb them.

If your pigs don't have a safe enclosure outside with shade from the sunlight and a house to hide in, they won't feel comfortable outside. They do not require access to sunlight, but they do require vitamin C. Make certain your pigs get daily vitamin C in their food or water to take care of this requirement.
