My dog is wobbly, falling over, and has unexplained symptoms.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 4 years and 7 months old | 10 lbs

3 vets have looked at my pup, blood work shows no abnormalities, no solid direction to take. 5 days ago, looked like he tensed up, rolled on side, looked like he favored left leg. Happened an hour later, favored right leg. Next day happened once, at night.favored both front legs, curled them tightly and he lay over on his side with back arched backwards. Twice next day, within hour. Completely wobbly, lost balance and fell over. Now, just wobbly all the time, wether sitting or standing.

Poor Porter! At this point, I think the best thing is to find a veterinary neurologist who can evaluated your dog and run more advanced diagnostic tests to determine the cause and treat. It sounds like a complicated case and if your vet has not been able to diagnose then I think seeing a specialist is the best choice. Ask your vet for a referral to a neurologist. Hope he gets better soon!
