My cat is still vomiting & has fever after new food. What to do?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 5 days old | 1.8 lbs

Okay I went and bought a new bag of food didn't change brand or anything. All of my cats got sick. I immediately pulled the food. The cats are coming back around but axel is running fever and still vomiting what should I do? What could possibly be going on?

Hi there. Sorry about what's happened to your poor kitties, especially Axel. It sounds like something to do with the food, I agree with you. Every now and then a bag will spoil or have a tiny hole in it or something while it's stored and mice and things can get in there and make a mess. This can lead to bacterial overgrowth or fermenting of the food which can make your animals sick. If you ever heard of certain products being recalled (especially for babies) pet food is no exception. Make sure there isn't a recall on what you're currently feeding. Give a call to your pet food company as well. Sometimes they have insight beyond this and often will replace the bag of food for you. If Axel is still actively vomiting it would probably be best to have him seen by your veterinarian-if he has ingested spoiled food he can become quite ill, as some animals are more sensitive than others. Your doctor can give him something for nausea and keep him hydrated with subcutaneous or iv fluids. I hope this helps you! I hope he feels better soon!
