Why is my dog unresponsive, twitching, and not eating or drinking?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 8 days old | 4 lbs

My sarah has had a few incidents where she became unresponsive for hours and was twitching her head and eyes constantly, unable to eat, drink, sleep or go potty. Can u tell me what might be causing these episodes?

Unfortunately with out some testing I cannot tell you exactly what caused her episodes. It is possible she could have low blood sugar, a liver shunt, congenital disease (born with an issue), seizures, or infectious disease. I would recommend taking her to a vet due to severity of clinical signs and multiple incidents. The vet will need to do some blood work and exam to help narrow down what is causing Sarah her issues.
