Hi! A few days ago, my shih tzu dog went to a new groomer for a haircut. She came home with a cut on her eyelid. That night, the cut started bleeding. I cleaned out the blood and the cut seemed fine. But today, I looked at the cut again, and it seems to have swelled up a bit. Is it infected? The cut also looks like it is irritating her, as she keeps blinking that eye more often. Poor Molly! You did the right thing by cleaning the cut off when you first noticed it. Yes, if it is looking a bit swollen and red, and she is blinking her eye more than normal, I would recommend taking her to the vet tomorrow to have this checked - these can be signs of infection, so it sounds like she may need a course of antibiotics to help resolve the problem.
