My kitten still has fleas after Revolution. What should I do next?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | unneutered | 1.2 lbs

I have a 11wk old M kitten who has been struggling with fleas for approx 3 wks. I started with a topical shampoo every week for the first two week and last Wednesday we went to the vet, had a checkup, and got Revolution which was then applied Thursday afternoon. I did not see fleas this weekend but tonight found two adult fleas up towards the face. What should my next step be?

Revolution does not repel fleas. The fleas still have to get on Sage in order for the medicine to work. The fleas could have been new and not had time to fully die from the revolution yet. 80% of a flea problem is environmental. It is best to drop him off at the vet for the day while you treat your house and yard to full get rid of the problem.
