My dog ate a pork rib. What should I do if she's acting normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 40 lbs

Nana ate a pork rib - she did chew most of it but may have eaten part of it in a bigger chunk - she is playing and being her normal crazy self but not sure what we should do - we gave her a piece of bread ad someone advised it may cushion her tummy

Most small bones will be softened during digestion in the stomach. They can usually pass without an issue, however fatty or salty meats can irritate the intestinal tract causing problems like pancreatitis. I would monitor Nana for signs of vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain and have her seen by your veterinarian if noted.
