Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 3 days old | 58 lbs
Dallas ate 1 1/2 calcium+Vitamin D3 tabs. 1200mg+1000iu almost 4days ago. Been treating him with Pedialyte and coconut water. Zofran for nausea. Vomiting excessively and diarrhea. Today he started bleeding from his anus. Pouring without him noticing. I'm on disability. Applied for care credit, a loan at my bank, ask friends for help. Local vets won't see Dallas without paying up front. Is there anything I can do? Is my baby dieing? Any help I can get I need. Advice Please!!

Dallas may be having a serious reaction to overdosing on vitamin D3 and this can be life threatening unfortunately. Early clinical signs include anorexia, lethargy, and weakness. Other signs may include vomiting, constipation or diarrhea, melena (bloody stool) hematemesis (vomiting blood), hypersalivation, hind limb paresis, and hyperthermia. It can be life threatening because hypercalcemia can occur and can calcify the kidneys causing acute kidney failure. He needs to be seen by your vet as there is nothing really you can do at home to treat this, and unfortunately you are already behind the eight ball with his treatment as it has been 3 days already. I know you have tried to get financial help to no avail, but try this website link to see if any these resources can help you afford his medical expenses because he desperately needs to see the vet for further care. http://m.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/trouble_affording_veterinary_care.html I sure hope you can get some funding for Dallas's care. I wish you the best of luck and take care.
