My small dog is a picky eater. How can I get her to eat more?

How can i get my dog to eat more? I feed her Hill's science diet (small & toy breed formula).I give her 2 1/4 cups but she only eats a portion and leaves it sitting there all day. I have tried to split the portion into 2 and feeding her 1/4 cup in a.m. and 1/4 cup pm but she won't eat the p.m. feeding. She is small...7.6lbs and she is a toy poodle and she is also uninterested in "wet" dog food. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 6 years and 10 months old | 5 lbs

This sounds like a fairly large amount of food for a 7.6 lb dog - she may not be hungry. If she seems to be losing weight you should see your veterinarian to make sure there is nothing medically wrong that is making her not want to eat. Otherwise I think you can measure out how much food she needs in a day and just leave it for her to eat. She'll eat eventually when she is hungry.
