How long should I keep male and female bettas separated for breeding?

Good day i have 2 betta males and 2 betta females i put tge females in the tank with the males in a separate container how long should i keep them this way before releasing the female into the tank freely with the male?

Allow the male and female to see but not reach each other. When the male is ready to mate, he will build a bubble nest. When the female is ready, she will "bar up" and develop vertical stripes. At this point, they can be introduced to one another for breeding. The time for each fish to be ready depends on age and environmental factors.
