I'm so sorry for your loss of Dazy. Unfortunately, it may simply be coincidental that her death occurred during her estrus/heat. Pyometras (uterine infections) can occur and be fatal in female dogs, but this typically occurs 2-3 weeks after the conclusion of the heat cycle. Without a necropsy (essentially an autopsy for animals), it is impossible to determine her precise cause of death. Again, I'm deeply sorry for your loss.
