My dog inhaled water during bath, now hacking/snorting. Is he okay?

When we were bathing our dog (13 lb, 2 year old chiweenie), he seems to have inhaled some water when we went to pour water on his head. He's now kind of hacking or snorting and has been off and on for about half an hour. Aside from that, he's acting totally normal, running around and playing. Is he ok?

I'm sorry that Tuck inhaled some water! Given that he is acting totally normal, running around and playing, I would suspect he will be fine. If he was having difficulty with this, he would not be running around or playing and he likely did not ingest enough of the bath water to cause a significant problem. I would be more concerned if he was acting like this after being in a swimming pool or a large body of water. Keep an eye on the hacking, and if it's continues or gets worse over the next 24 hours, then I would be worried and have him seen by a vet. I hope this helps :-)
