My dog ate a box of girl scout peanut butter patties yesterday. He was ok then but today he threw up and has had some diarehea, but no fever and he seems pretty happy still. Should I take him into the vet?

It could be that all the sugar from the peanut butter patties has upset his stomach, and while they do contain chocolate, they don't have a large amount of chocolate in them. I can give you a home to try to help Frank as long as he isn't vomiting multiple times or having frequently bouts of diarrhea. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.
