It looks like Honey may have a skin infection. I would recommend having her checked out by your vet so the problem can be addressed and treated. I would be worried that the infection could spread so the sooner you get it under control the better.

They need to assess the wound thoroughly so that therapy can be recommended. Antibiotics, pain control medications and thorough cleaning are needed. I wish you and poor Honey all the best!

It looks like your dog has a pyoderma (bacterial skin infection). He should be examined and treated by your vet as he needs an oral antibiotic to help resolve the infection. He might also need a corticosteroid and/or other medications to treat. If he has a history of allergies, ask your vet about Apoquel or Cytopoint to help control his allergies. Most skin infections are secondary to allergies.

What are these? Hives or something else?
No, I don’t think these lesions are hives. They should be looked at by your vet, but it looks like a possible skin infection. I think have a check up once your vet is open, some of the skin lesions look older and more dry while others look really inflamed. It would be interesting to know wether there is some degree of itchiness and how long have they been these lesions been there for, and when did they appear for the first time.

Need to know what should I do
I'm not sure if these are bite wounds or a severe skin infection but either way you need to take him to the vet urgently in order to get it treated, it will need to be cleaned (after the area is clipped), then depending on the damage it may need to be debrided and sutured under anesthesia, it will require a long course of antibiotics after that.

From the pictures, the skin appears red and inflamed. It does look like it is infected. While this may not be a true emergency, I would recommend getting in to see your veterinarian very soon. Pookie will need the area shaved and cleaned up. Your vet may prescribe an antibiotic for this as well depending. Until you can get to your vet, you can keep the area clean and dry and use a mild soap and water to clean the wound. If Pookie is licking it, you can put on ECollar on her to prevent licking.

I believe my 3 month puppy has impetigo. Just mild now. I used some mild shampoo with water and sponged the unfer arm portion. Cleaned with water later. Please advise better.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It does look like Max has a skin infection. Washing him was a good idea but he likely needs oral antibiotics to cure it. Puppies commonly get skin infections on their belly because they have a weak immune system. I would take him to the vet to get medications started. Good luck and kisses to Max!

I have a 10 year old half boxer and half beagle that has these rounding black spots on her back side that when scraped, the skin comes off and it's red?
Those look like infections on Honey. Generally they are bacterial but ringworm (which humans can get) is possible. If they are in fact bacterial, many times the body will clear them up on its own. If it does not go away or gets worse (or Honey is itchy) take her into the vet. Sometimes dogs just get these infections. Other times it indicates allergies or endocrine disorders. We just noticed this while we were giving bear a bath. Any idea what it could be? And do we need to take him to his vet?
Thank you for your question. From your photo, it appears that Bear has a small skin infection. I recommend cleaning it with warm soapy water. You can carefully trim the hair around the lesion to make it easier to clean. Since you just noticed this, it is hard to say if it is something that has been there and is healing, or if it will get worse. I recommend keeping it clean through the weekend and using a cone or e-collar to keep Bear from licking the area. You can apply a triple antibiotic ointment once or twice a day. If it isn't getting better, you should call your veterinarian on Monday to have it evaluated and see if antibiotics are needed. Make sure you wash your hands after you have touched the wound. I hope this information helps, and that Bear heals quickly.

We first noticed this small bumps on Hannah’s right shoulder 2 days ago. They feel like small bumps but then when you pull apart the fur, you can see there is a red scab under it. Also, when you pull the fur directly over the area, it comes right off
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Hannah! I'm glad you are planning to set up an appointment. It looks like in the last 2 pictures that she may have a bacterial skin infection. The vet will be able to tell more in person. We treat skin infections with oral antibiotics, medicated shampoo and something to stop the scratching. Skin infections can be from allergies to the environment or from her food. I do not think the skin issue is related to the tick you removed but be sure to have her on a good flea and tick preventative. I wish Hannah the best!

Should I be concerned of these skin infections ? What do you recommend me to do? Is it caused by insects ? Will it help if I clean the spots?
It does look like these spots could be a skin infection, and allergies would be one of the most common causes of a skin infection. RIngworm or mites could also cause similar skin lesions. I doubt insects are related, although some dogs do have a flea allergy. It might help to clean the spots if this is a bacterial infection, but ultimately determining the underlying cause is most important. I would recommend having Emily examined by your vet.
