My Scottish Terrier has a bleeding red growth/knot on the outside upper corner of his mouth. It's sensitive to the touch.

Since it is bleeding, it needs to be examined. This may be a tumor which should be removed and sent in to pathology to be examined for malignancy. Scottish Terriers are pre-disposed to malignant melanomas. This could also be a papilloma virus infection. Treatment for a CPV infection iis usually not necessary , however if any of the papillomas (growths) are irritated, bleeding , infected, they should be removed as well.
