My four year old husky/lab/shepherd mix has developed a scaly, bumpy, scab like rash on the top of his head. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but he enjoys it when I scratch his head. In the past two days it's become more widespread and seems higher up from his scalp than before. I've noticed the rash some time ago, then it goes away. However, this time I'm very worried about how much is on his head and how big it's gotten. Please help!

The rash you described: scaly, bumpy, scab like, could be a fungal infection or bacterial infection on the skin. Since at home treatments will likely not resolve this, it really is necessary to get the skin checked by your vet so they can do some quick skin testing to determine which infection is more likely so that the correct treatment is recommended to resolve Jimi's skin problem. Antibiotics or Anti-fungals will likely be recommended to treat this, which are also not available without a veterinarian prescription.
