Why did my French Bulldog start bleeding then stop? Is she in heat?

Hi, I have a 10 and a half month old french bulldog and she hasn't had a season yet, then yesterday she started bleeding then today its stopped really concerned. She seems her happy go lucky self. Not sure what to do though. Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 16 days old

It sounds like Lilly is probably in her first heat cycle now - bleeding and vaginal swelling are completely normal. Some dogs bleed continuously for an entire week or two, while others may only bleed or a day here or there. Some don't bleed at all, and it can be very hard to tell when they're in heat. Every dog is different, just like people :) As long as she is acting normal, I wouldn't be concerned. If you're worried, you could always have her checked out by your vet to confirm that she's in heat and doesn't have any other issues.
