Why did my French Bulldog start bleeding then stop? Is she in heat?

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 16 days old

Hi, I have a 10 and a half month old french bulldog and she hasn't had a season yet, then yesterday she started bleeding then today its stopped really concerned. She seems her happy go lucky self. Not sure what to do though.

It sounds like Lilly is probably in her first heat cycle now - bleeding and vaginal swelling are completely normal. Some dogs bleed continuously for an entire week or two, while others may only bleed or a day here or there. Some don't bleed at all, and it can be very hard to tell when they're in heat. Every dog is different, just like people :) As long as she is acting normal, I wouldn't be concerned. If you're worried, you could always have her checked out by your vet to confirm that she's in heat and doesn't have any other issues.

    Hello, sorry to hear about Hero. She may be experiencing other causes of a bleeding which may be associated with a UTI or bladder stones. Additionally, she may also bleed if she has an infection of her uterus. would recommend having her evaluated by a veterinarian to ensure she does not have a uterus infection. Alternatively, if she doe snot have an infections, you should have her spayed to reduce the bleeding. Hope this helps and best of luck.
