Is clear discharge from dog anal gland surgery normal after 12 days?

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 4 years and 8 months old

Its been 12 days since anal gland removal. Is it normal for the wound to leak clear discharge? Shes got a check up with the vet in 26 hours time.

There is a pretty big hole where the anal sac used to be, so there is a chance that there is a seroma there filling it up, which is a perfectly normal reaction of the body. Unless the discharge is yellow or green (pus) or frank blood, I would not worry and you can wait for your recheck appointment with your veterinarian.

    It is not uncommon for the wound to leak even 12 days after surgery, it might be infected, which is also not uncommon, the vet will see Millie tomorrow and will be able to tell you if it needs antibiotic treatment or not.
