My cat ripped his dew claw and keeps licking the wet paw. What to do?

My cat has ripped his dew claw off and keeps licking the area now it is wet and the size of a 10p what do i do

If it's not bleeding I would recommend getting an e-collar in order to put it around his neck, that will prevent him from licking it. take him tomorrow to the vet in order to get it checked as he might need a course of antibiotics to prevent an infection.

    It looks like Alfie has a wound and that's what he is licking. If so, the licking could prevent the area from healing. Also, licking can be a sign of pain. I recommend seeing a vet to get him some antibiotics and pain medications. Please don't give anything over the counter. Kisses to Alfie!
