How do I gradually introduce new dry dog food to my dog's diet?

Pet's info: Dog | Russell Terrier | Male | unneutered | 16 lbs

Hello, I have recently bought some Ivory Coat dry food for my dog after he enthusiastically ate a small sample packet. The quality is, I believe, much more nutritionally rounded compared to his current daily diet which consists of cooked meat, some rice and cat food which he enjoys. How do you recommend that I gradually integrate it into his meals? Should I give him a little bit more each day?

Yes, you are correct that dog formulated food is much better for him than what you are correctly feeding. His current diet is not nutritionally balanced for him, and will not provide the nutrients he needs to be health. You are correct that you should give him a little bit more each day, as that will help prevent GI upset from switching food. Gradually increase the amount of Ivory Coat and decrease the amount of his current diet until he is eating the Ivory Coat only.
