My dog's dew claw is swollen and she's limping. Is it infected?

Hi I think my dog may have an infection in her du claw, she's also limping and it's swallon is it possibly that ?

If the dew claw (hind leg) or the thumb (front leg) is swollen there is clearly a problem. Lex may have gotten caught in something with her claw and pulled on it and injured oit. You will need to see your veterinarian with Lex and the leg needs to be examined. The claw may just be sprained, but your dog will need pain mendicine at the least.

    Yes all the signs may be compatible either with an intense inflammatory process or possibly an infection there. It is not an uncommon condition at all. I would strongly recommend a check up and appropriate treatment that will probably be based on anti-inflammatory and antibiotics.
