Why is my 10-year-old dog peeing inside with clear vet results?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 10 years and 7 months old

I have a little Chihuahua terrier mix. She is 10. Recently started peeing all over the house. Blood tests are good, urine test good and no bladder stones. What could be the cause of this?

If she is drinking more water and seems to be urinating more than it could be an endocrine disease, like Cushings disease. If the water consumption is the same and she doesn't have an infection than it could be behavioral issue. Maybe she is having some cognitive disfunction. Your vet could prescribe anipryl and see if that helps. If she is just dribbling and leaking urine than she may need a drug called Proin. Eventhough her urinalysis didn't indicate an infection, your vet could try an antibiotic and see if it makes a difference. Some dogs can have vaginal infections which make them urinate more.
