A typical disease that would cause night blindness is retinal degeneration (PRA). Night blindness would be an early sign as the disease affects the rods responsible for night time vision first. This is a genetic disease that can appear from the age of one on. Another disease causing this would be SARDS, sudden acquired retinal degeneration syndrome. Here is some information for you to read, so you know what questions to ask your veterinarian when you take Joey to the vet: http://www.eyevet.ca/sards.html http://www.eyevet.ca/pra.html
