What's the safe Dramamine dosage for my dog's travel carsickness?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd | Male | neutered | 3 years and 11 months old

Just checking to see if we can give our 43 pound "mini" Aussie Shepherd Dramamine to help with carsickness/vomiting while traveling. Wanting to make sure how much is safe for his size. I'm finding 2mg/pound of his weight is proper dosage. So 80-90mg of original Dramamine 1 hour prior to travel?

Unfortunately, it is illegal for the experts at Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to give the dose information for any drug, including OTC drugs, without seeing the animal in person first. I would take Carson into the vet for an exam, and they can give you the correct dose for it.
