My dog ate foil, has bloody poop, won't eat, and licked a wound.

Pet's info: Dog | Lhasa Apso | Female | spayed | 4 years and 4 months old

Hi, my little Lhasa ate some piece of foil 10 days ago. Since there she has pooped with some blood twice, but besides that she looks okay. However, today she has refused to eat and drink water, and also she has licked herself so much that it opened a hole in her skin, near the stomach area.

Poor Topsy. I'm not sure if you have been keeping an eye on her feces for signs of the foil, but if you have and it hasn't passed, there is a chance it could be stuck in her GI tract. That would cause bloody feces, and would make her not want to eat or drink water. She also could be licking that area because it's painful. I think it would be a good idea to take her into the vet for an exam. The vet can do x-rays to see if she does have a foreign body, and can do routine blood tests and a urinalysis to check for other causes of her symptoms. If she does have a foreign body, she will need surgery. I would take her into a vet today.
