My Shih Tzu has a bulge under his penis, breathing fast, and hiding.

My shi tzu has a bulge directly under his penis and is bothering him constantly. Now his breathing is EXTREMELY rapid. He is hiding under beds and doesn't move around much.

Poor Murry! It sounds like he's very uncomfortable or painful for some reason. The bulge under his penis could be an abdominal hernia, a mass or tumor of some kind, an abscess, or even a bladder stone or some other type of urinary blockage. Because he is breathing rapidly and not wanting to move much, I would be concerned that something is seriously wrong - I would recommend having him seen by a vet immediately. Your vet can palpate the bulge to help determine what it might be, and may also need to do x-rays to help diagnose the problem.

    This could be an inflammation or abscess or tumor of the prostate. I suggest you take Murry to your veterinarian for an exam. The rapid breathing is usually a sign of great pain which will need to be treated with prescription medications as well.
