Should I bandage my dog's paw cyst to prevent infection outside?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Do I have to bandage my dog's paw(s) whenever a new interdigital cyst comes? I'm afraid it will get infected when I let her go pee outside.

I would not recommend bandaging, instead bath it in epsom salt baths 2-3 times a day and then dry it well, it can help making it better faster.

Bandage will certainly avoid any further contamination as you said. Unfortunately bandage needs to be changed almost daily as it can slow the healing process and the interdigital cyst can develop infections underneath the bandage. A recurrent cystic disease should be ideally explored looking for foreign bodies (I guess you vet did it already!).
