Kitten has pot belly, lethargy, 104.5 fever. Does she need an ER vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 16 days old | 4.5 lbs

My kitten (10 weeks) has a sudden pot belly, lethargy and not playing very much. She is eating and using the bathroom regularly. She currently has a temp of 104.5. I did treat her for worms today. Another cat from the liter had a respiratory infection but she shows no signs. Does she need an emergency vet visit? I have an appointment monday

Yes, please take Fluff into an ER vet now. A temperature of 104.5F is quite high, and it is concerning that she is suddenly lethargic with a pot belly and not playing much. Whenever a kitten has a temperature of over 103F, an immediate vet visit is advised. Please take Fluff into an ER vet now.
