My sick puppy won't drink water or eat. What can I feed her?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | 2 months and 9 days old | 18 lbs

My 10 wk old Choc Lab won't drink water, she sounds congested, her appetite decreased, she's tested negative for parvo. Her eyes are blood shot, & she's constipated, and she tires easily. I'm giving her Pedialyte & her appt isn't until Monday afternoon, any ideas?

I would try feeding her boiled chicken, hamburger, or turkey and rice. You can also try feeding her things like scrambled eggs, low-fat cottage cheese, or chicken baby food. The other thing I would try is buying some canned puppy food for her and adding warm water to it to make it into a soup for her. Anything you can add some water to will help to keep her somewhat hydrated. You can also offer her low-sodium chicken broth for some fluids.
