Is a CT biopsy worth it for my 16-year-old cat's ear tumor?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 4 lbs

My 16 year old cat has a tumor on/in her left ear. It has caused lost hearing in left side, some on right, lost vision on left, now gags every now and then while eating, seen 2 vets. Next would be ct biopsy. Is this worth it? Would she be helped, or out through suffering?

I think a biopsy is worth doing, it's relatively very brief and non invasive, it will give you an answer regarding the type of tumor, this way you can know for sure if there is any hope. from the sound of it though, it's probably a malignant tumor and there is probably nothing that can be done to stop it or treat it, at some point you will need to stop the tests and accept it.
