My cat has ticks! How do I remove them and find effective prevention?

My cat has recently caught quite alot of ticks and i am greatly concered for his health. I cant afford vet bills and i am so worried, i bought loads of stuff and collars for prevention but the obviously havent worked. Please help

Hi, it is rare for cats to get lyme disease but they can become anemic from too many ticks as well as fleas. The best tick prevention out is called a Seresto collar. While they are more expensive than other flea collars, they last for months. You can order this online if no vets have it in your area. For now, pick the ticks off with tweezers, making sure to pinch from the base of the skin and pull hard to get the head. Some hair may come out with them and there may be a red spot. This will heal.
