My dog ate a lot of Trifexis and is vomiting. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 11 months and 29 days old | 65 lbs

My dog ate 6 months worth of Trifexis that I accidentally left on the counter along with half a bag of all natural calming treats. He must have eaten then when I left for work this morning at 6 am. He threw up 5 or 6 times. I just got home from work around 4 and found the mess. All of the throw is old from earlier today. He seems to be drinking water and I even fed him his food. He is young and usually has tons of energy. He is yawning and more tired than normal. He did eat and drink. Hes 65lbs

Toxic reactions of the main ingredient in Trifexis in dogs starts at 400mg/kg. Assuming duke had 6 tablets of 60-120lbs he had a little under 10,000 mg, for his weight toxic dose starts at 12,000 mg, so he should be safe, but if you start seeing worse symptoms or if he isn't better by tomorrow morning- take him to the vet in order to get it checked.
