My dog keeps getting worms. Can I deworm him monthly with Drontal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 24 days old | 23 lbs

With reference to my previous question regarding worms again in my dog, can I gave him another drontal tablet to deworm him again. Can I give him deworming tablets ever month since till now I saw worms every 40/45 days so that u would make sure he is. Clear? Thanks again

There is not any problem with deworming your dog from a technical standpoint monthly, but if you are finding yourself having to do this there might be a bigger problem at hand. There could be some resistant parasites present in the gastrointestinal tract that require a different medication. I would submit a fecal sample to your veterinarian or perhaps even to a laboratory to have them analyze the sample and check for the type of parasites. You might have greater benefit from the use of a different drug besides Drontal Plus. Hope this helps! Hope Thor is doing OK!
